Many of our combat veterans live in an isolated, lonely space behind the curtain. Over the years, their courage, strength, and excellence stood as a wall of protection for us all. They have seen and experienced things that, hopefully, we will never see or experience, all in the name of freedom. Most of us live in a world more of words than action when it comes to our combat veterans. We often say, “Thank you for your service.” While we feel sincerely appreciative for every man and woman who sacrificed for us, it often comes across as an empty gesture. Their broken spirits cannot be fixed by words. While saying, “Thank You” goes a long way, the act of showing gratitude is a profound display of respect and honor. One national organization, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, has a genuine voice, a voice of action. This portrait exhibition utilizes a transcending style of portrait photography, which lends itself well to capturing emotion. Other than the gallery’s commission on sale, all proceeds go directly to the organization to use to help other veterans.
