The Brunswick Arts Council has announced the hiring of Susan Sims-Pritts as its Part-Time Executive Director. President Gary Halberstadt introduced Ms Sims-Pritts at the reception of the Arts Council’s 17th Annual Fall Exhibition and Sale.
Ms Sims-Pritts brings years of experience working with small businesses, non-profits, and individuals, having volunteered and provided pro-bono consulting, advocacy, marketing, and fundraising planning. For the last five years, she has volunteered with the Wilmington Choral Society where she assisted with fundraising and managed their publicity and public relations. Additionally, she has worked as a Social Work and Case Management Supervisor/Director, Program Developer, and a Legislative Advocate. With WHQR, she hosted wellness events and community dialogues which developed into Women’s Wellness Conferences at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
As Part-Time Executive Director, Ms Sims-Pritts will be responsible for identifying foundations and other granting entities and write applications to secure grant funding for the BAC; to identify and secure individual and corporate sponsors to help fund BAC programs, projects, and campaigns.
Ms Sims-Pritts says that she is looking forward to “Creating a sense of community, consensus, vision, shared goals and excitement across diverse populations and interest groups within organizations and the community.”
The Brunswick Arts Council is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire and promote appreciation, education and support for a broad range of arts and cultural interests for the benefit of Brunswick County’s artists, art-related organizations, students and the community at large.
