Ocean Isle Beach Resident, Lassiter is the owner of Sunset River Marketplace – a truly eclectic gallery offering activities for children and adults, professionals and amateurs, locals and visitors- which she and her husband have owned since 2002. Ginny Lassiter is a creative soul. She’s a potter, she paints, she sketches, she designs fabrics. She graduated from East Carolina University with a major in art and an emphasis in Interior Design. Currently Ginny works most often in acrylic, creating landscapes and abstracts. “I’ve taken workshops with Sterling Edwards, Marcus McClanahan, and Joe DiGiulio,” she says, “and they’ve really opened my eyes to shapes and textures. I love the whole process of painting abstracts!” Her work has been published on the cover of Carolina Arts magazine and Art Guide magazine. She often leads the Sunset River Gallery’s Paint & Party events, where locals and visitors (who aren’t necessarily artists) have a chance to create their own pieces of art in a casual and fun atmosphere. Ginny has also been profiled in Sasee magazine and was also featured on the ATMC cable TV program. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. There are only 10 openings per session.
